MAD LAD #5962 · LIGHT LAD

BLUE MEDAL REMEMBERS.

KNOWN AS · Blue Medal

“GLOWS. DOESN'T BEHAVE.”

Known in the Outer Ring for polishing boots that have not seen a battlefield in years. Remembered for something else.

BEFORE THE LAB

The Ninth Squadron gave him orders, a rank, and a war. He kept the first two. He has always burned a few degrees too bright; rooms get warmer when he is angry.

THERE IS ONE SONG HE WILL NOT LISTEN TO.

THE WHOLE CITY KNOWS THE WORDS.

THE THING THAT CHANGED HIM

In a crowded café in the Outer Ring, the song came on the radio. He stood, crossed the room, switched it off and sat back down without a word. Nobody turned it back on.

WHAT HE BECAME

In time he was known for a salute so crisp that new recruits flinch. Later, and less proudly, for telling the same war story every night — never the same way twice. He is technically on leave. He has been on leave for a very long time.

STILL THERE

He is still in the Outer Ring. Everybody knows where. Nobody goes.

THE BIOGRAPHER WAS ASKED TO CUT THIS.

Fiction from the Lab's archive, written from these traits. Not Mad Lads canon. Not on-chain history.
