TRANSCRIPT · FILE 03737 · SUBJECT SPEAKING
ASK THE OUTER RING ABOUT SHADOW VESPERS.
“CERTIFIED MENACE.”
In the Outer Ring there are two versions of what Shadow Vespers wanted. Both are wrong.
TRANSCRIPT · SUBJECT SPEAKING
I never meant for anyone in the Outer Ring to know about sermons short enough that even the Families stay awake. All I ever wanted was forgiveness for something I have never confessed. Most nights I'm still in the Outer Ring, out past the last tram stop.
Asked, in front of half of the Outer Ring, whether I had been anywhere near the warehouse that night, I looked up and said it would rain by morning. It did. Nobody remembers the question being answered. I've never told anyone that part.

He was a gambler first. He became a priest after a hand he still won't talk about.
